SECTION 3: BRAINSTORM OF CONTENT AND CLASSIFICATION OF FILM

Today we were assigned groups for the production of the opening sequence of a thriller. We produced a mind map of ideas, and began to narrow those down to a few that we considered would be good ideas for our theme.

Setting/location – In the city, a house, in a church, in the woods, in a neighbourhood, different time period etc
Narrative – having flashbacks, crook law enforcement, being followed or chased, supernatural, and a sound that controls minds.
Characters – a kidnapped girl, killer animals, psychic powers, zombies etc.

Members in this group:

JAMES LOCK
ELIZABETH WOOD
FARTISYA KHAIRUDDIN
KANE WRIGHT

FILM CLASSIFICATION

Our film will be certificate 15 because none of the group are 18, therefore it would not be suitable for us to watch or make it. We believe that certificate 15’s have a wider range of audience as they can be watched by any age from 15 where as certificate 18 cuts out 3 years of potential audience.

Media Lesson - 12th November

In groups we drafted questions for a questionnaire to ask to forty people. This helps with our production as the results will show what people want in a thriller opening sequences.
